In the department Data Exploitation Methods (DEM), we develop new methods for research data management and analysis. Together with scientists from various disciplines, we take an interdisciplinary look at research questions that were previously difficult or even impossible to solve.
There is immense, as yet undefined potential for interdisciplinary research, particularly in disciplines that have hardly worked digitally to date, such as the so-called 'small disciplines' of the humanities and cultural studies. Here we have the opportunity to enrich the methods and working methods of the entire discipline.
In various projects we are researching methods and tools for the digital humanities - from the sustainable storage of research data to annotation and the visualization of certain phenomena.
