The license program "Microsoft Select Plus Academic" allows KIT institutions to purchase Microsoft licenses for an unlimited period of time. In contrast to the license program "Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions", this is NOT a software rental.
The licenses can be purchased with or without "Software Assurance". Software Assurance (SA) is versionless and offers the right to use the latest version within the term of the respective Microsoft Select contract. It has a term of between 25 and 36 months from the date of purchase. The individual term depends on the annual cut-off date of the respective Select Plus contract.
