Smart Data at Scientific Computing Center

The Scientific Computing Center operates of the Smart Data Innovation Lab (SDIL) (www.sdil.de/en) research platform, which was founded in collaboration between industry and academia. SDIL offers a high-performance infrastructure that provides the essentials for excellent research in the field of Big Data. The focus of analytics projects to be carried out is on the strategic research fields of Industry 4.0, Personalized Medicine and Infrastructures. The SDIL platform is available free of charge to interested parties from academia and industry.

Smart Data Innovation Lab (SDIL)

The aim of the SDIL project is to facilitate the cooperation between industry and science. The Data Innovation Communities of the research fields Industry 4.0, Personalized Medicine and Infrastructure are therefore headed by a representative of academia and industry. Those regular working groups decide on the design and the allocation of resources to research projects. After approval by the SDIL Strategy Board, the industry partners can use the SDIL infrastructure under scientific supervision.

Smart Data Solution Center Baden-Württemberg (SDSC-BW)

The SDIL platform is also used by the Smart Data Solution Center Baden-Württemberg  (www.smart-data-solution-center.de).The goal of SDSC-BW is to enable Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the state of Baden-Württemberg to make use of the latest Smart Data technologies. Together with the TECO research group (www.teco.edu/) at KIT and SICOS-BW GmbH (www.sicos-bw.de/), SCC supports regional SMEs in raising data related potentials using innovative Smart Data technologies. The SDSC team offers a free of charge consultation and an initial smart data analysis of the companies’ data. The goal is to enable the employees of the company to evaluate their data (e.g. from production processes, marketing or sales) and to make use of it in a profitable way.
